Florida built more solar capacity in the first 3 months of 2024 than any other state. The Sunshine State added almost 4 times more capacity than California.
Virtually all of the capacity was built by Florida Power and Light, the investor-owned utility and subsidiary of NextEra Energy.
Here's how much utility-scale solar capacity the top 5 states added in Q1 2024:
Florida: 1,789 MW
Texas: 1,453 MW
Nevada: 690 MW
California: 477 MW
Ohio: 352 MW
